Moore was initially reluctant to specify whether landing an out-and-out striker was the top of his agenda this month.

But when pushed on the lack of options in attack currently at his disposal, the Rovers boss said he would be looking to rectify that in January.

"You will say that because of where the squad is now and the dynamics and facts of the season thus far," he said.

"I won't elude from it and I'll say it would be.

"I just try to tell it how it is.

"We'll see, it's hard - just like other areas of the pitch.

"We'll see how that goes."

Moore was keen to stress that he is examining all options for additions this month and will not rule out signings in any area of the pitch as he seeks to improve his squad.

"It's all positions where we're looking - and I mean all positions," he said.

"If we can strengthen any positions we’ll strengthen in them.

"That goes from the front right across the board.

"If a player becomes available that can strengthen us then I'm all for it.

"My job here is to keep this club moving in the right direction and part of that is bringing in the right players to help and benefit the team.

"For me, it's all areas of the team where I'm looking in terms of now and the future of the club."
