Fletcher, who has netted 12 goals for the Owls this term, has failed to recover from the illness which forced him to miss the 1-0 win over Bristol City at Hillsborough on Sunday.

There is also no place for goalkeeper Keiren Westwood in the matchday squad, with Joe Wildsmith taking his spot on the bench.

Sam Hutchinson returns to the 18 as boss Garry Monk names the same 11 which started on Sunday.

Here’s what you have had to say about Monk’s team selection.

@JoeBryden88 Happy with that apart from Nuhiu - like playing with 10 men #swfc

@ScottCain13 Gutted Fletcher not back. Hopefully be back for Sunday. Come on Wednesday 3 points today #swfclive #wawaw

@AndrewClayton93 Westwood situation is odd. I think we may have seen him play his last game for us. Off in January?

@mvrander Needs a target man for the way Monk plays. If Fletcher is sick, injured or suspended we get Nuhiu.

@__JBH___ Nuhiu offers nothing when starting, rather play Winnall

@Majortarantino If Fletcher isn't 100%, no point playing him with how many games we have coming up #swfc

@YesWeCrann No Fletch still. Hoping for another Bannan masterclass. #SWFC

@rich_woodhall No Westwood on bench is interesting

@DestructionLuxe Actually nervous now.

@adam7485 The team selection over the last two games with Fletch poorly just shows how much we need to get a decent striker in and get rid of SW #swfc
