This is the campaign video Handsworth Junior Sporting Club hope will win them a vital £100,000 grant - but they need your help to make their dreams a reality.

Handsworth last month were announced as recipients of a £50,000 grant from FA Cup sponsors Budweiser, as part of their ‘Club Futures’ programme.

And now, the Olivers Mount club are up against seven other clubs nationwide for the big prize - a further £100,000 in funding.

“The £50,000 grant will help us create our vision of providing the best possible football experience for our own players and families and also our opposition,” Bob Hill, Club President and founder of Handsworth Junior Sporting Club, said.

“The plans we have in place for the grandstand are now very much a reality thanks to the first grant, and I know the community will reap the benefits once it’s complete.

“We can’t even begin to imagine what £100,000 would help us do for the community.”

To win the cash, all eight clubs were tasked to produce a two-minute video on Budweiser’s Facebook page. The club with the most public votes will walk away with the £100k prize.

Handsworth’s video focuses on Sheffield’s place in history, as the ‘home of football’.

The video was launched on Monday evening at Olivers Mount, with special guests including former Minister for Sport Richard Caborn and Sheffield Wednesday goalkeeper Aaron Jameson, currently on loan at Bradford City. Other notable former players include former Rotherham captain Ryan Cresswell, and Chelsea academy star Alex Kiwomya.

Sheffield United defender Harry Maguire, whose sister players for Handsworth, also attended and said: “I urge you all to vote for Handsworth in this Budweiser competition... they’re a real friendly club, and a good club within the community.”
