Chesterfield were hit by another late goal as they went down 2-1 to Bury at Gigg Lane.

The hosts took the lead through Zeli Ismail in the 14th minute, a goal cancelled out just three minutes later by Kristian Dennis.

Dennis turned home Connor Wilkinson’s cross to make it two goals in two League One starts for the Spireites.

But despite having chances to go ahead in the second half, Danny Wilson’s men found themselves leaving empty handed thanks to Tom Pope’s 87th minute header, the striker getting up above Liam Graham at the back post.

Chesterfield have an instant opportunity to turn things around tomorrow night at the Proact when they host Gillingham.
