Two Chesterfield players in Vanarama National League Team of the Week

Two Chesterfield players have made it into the Vanarama National League Team of the Week.

Tom Denton and Curtis Weston have been selected following their performances in the win against Wrexham on Saturday.

Denton notched his fifth goal in 14 starts when he finished low into the bottom corner midway through the first-half against the Red Dragons to make it 1-1.

While Weston bagged his fifth of the season with a superb half-volley in the 94th minute to snatch a vital three points for the Spireites.

Wrexham striker Jordan Ponticelli, who put the visitors 2-1 up at the Proact, makes the line-up as well.

Team of the week: Elliott Justham; Macauley Southam-Hales; Kenny Clark, Ash Palmer, Sam Wood; Luke Molyneux, Curtis Weston, Lois Maynard, Terry Hawkridge; Jordan Ponticelli, Tom Denton.

Meanwhile, a new date will be scheduled for Chesterfield’s home game against Harrogate Town as the Yorkshire side are in FA Trophy action.

Chesterfield beat Wrexham 3-2 on Saturday, and two Spireites players have made it into the Team of the Week.
