Rotherham United were denied all three points as they fell victim to a late sucker punch tonight.

Hosts Accrington scored on 83 minutes to ensure a 1-1 tie.

Rotherham United had come into tonight’s match on a high, their 3-1 win over Dagenham having cemented them joint top status with Morecambe.

Mid-table Accrington were looking to move into the top half of League Two, building on last weekend’s 1-1 tie at Gillingham.

But after 17 goals in seven games, the Millers were up for the challenge.

And centre half Ryan Cresswell underlined that when he put the visitors ahead on 37 minutes.

But defender Sean Hessey levelled with seven minutes left on the clock.

It was a sickener for Andy Scott’s men, who had looked like recording a fine away win.
