Three cheers for club's regional title

DONCASTER Athletic Club are on the right track to win a coveted national award.

The club have won the England Athletics Yorkshire and Humberside region Track and Field Club of the Year award and are automatically entered for the national award.

“It is great news for the club and is reward for all the hard work put in by all the coaches and athletes,” said secretary Barry Barnes.

“The club has made great strides since moving into the new stadium at the start of the year and we have almost doubled our membership in the last nine months.

“We have a lot of exellent young athletes at the club and that was highlighted when we won promotion in the Young Athletes League.

“We also won every section of the South Yorkshire Track and Field League apart from the Under-17s girls’ section, which was a fantastic achievement.
