Blades fans have said queues of thousands are outside Bramall Lane waiting to get in for this afternoon’s match against Fylde.

Some have described the scene as a “shambles”, and as a result many disappointed matchgoers missed the kick off.

One fan took to Twitter with a theory: “Seems like they’ve told everyone to collect their #FACup tickets on the day, and as a result we are 15 mins from KO and there's several hundred people queueing because there’s one ticket booth.”

Another said: “Horrific organisation by @SheffieldUnited with ticket collections...many, many people will be missing a large chunk of the game as a result.”

It has been said that there are just two attendants handing out tickets, with some supporters have waiting upwards of 40 minutes in queues.
