BIG-spending Huddersfield Town are believed to have joined the race to sign Sheffield-born striker Jamie Vardy.
The 5ft 10in player, who has notched 15 goals for Fleetwood Town this term, has a host of admirers, including Celtic, Ipswich Town, Birmingham City and West Ham.
Having been released as a teenager by Sheffield Wednesday, Vardy moved to Stocksbridge Park Steels. Following an array of impressive displays for the Evo-Stik Premier Division outfit, Vardy, who was at Hillsborough yesterday for the Owls’ 2-1 victory over Tranmere Rovers, went to FC Halifax Town in June 2010.
After a productive spell with the Shaymen, Vardy moved to Fleetwood in August.
