Ten-man Parkgate hold on to draw

Have your say

PARKGATE battled to a goalless draw at Tadcaster Albion in the NCEL Premier Division to extend their unbeaten run to three games, despite having Gareth Griffiths sent-off just before the hour.

It was a depleted Armthorpe Welfare side that went down 6-2 at Pickering Town. Jamie Walker had given Welfare hope with an equaliser, but Town regained the lead before running in four more after the break before Jay Rollins pulled one back three minutes from time.

Retford United beat Nostell 2-1 with first half goals from Adam Scott and Reece Thompson, while Rossington Main went down 4-1 at home against Hemsworth MW. Sheffield FC saw their Evo-Stik Doodson Sport League Cup tie against Premier Division leaders North Ferriby United postponed for a third time.

To get the tie out of the way both clubs have agreed to switch the tie to North Ferriby’s ground to be played next Tuesday. Also postponed was Hallam’s home clash against Clipstone Welfare due to a snow and ice on the Sandygate Road pitch.

It was a similar story at Phoenix Park where Dinnington Town were due to host Knaresborough Town.
