The Welshman was expected to be out of action for another couple of weeks due to a foot injury, manager Danny Wilson stating yesterday there was no timeframe for the striker’s return.

But that may well turn out to be a bluff from the Town boss, facing Uwe Rosler in the technical areas tonight, a manager who famously doesn’t disclose injury details.

There’s one change to the Spireites’ starting XI, Connor Wilkinson missing out through a knock picked up on Saturday, Reece Mitchell coming in for what is likely to be a 4-4-1-1 formation.

Another surprise in the squad is Paul McGinn’s place among the substitutes, the right-back working his way back to fitness after a hamstring problem.

Chesterfield: Fulton, O’Neil, Donohue, Hird, Anderson, Ariyibi, Mitchell, Liddle, Nolan, O’Shea, Dennis. Subs: Allinson, McGinn, Evatt, Gardner, Evans, Dimaio, German.
