Reports in Southend and Shrewsbury suggest that Danny Wilson is turning to Nathaniel Knight-Percival to fill the hole in his defence.

Chesterfield boss Wilson admitted this week he was still hunting for a left-sided centre-half to give his back line balance.

And Knight-Percival appears to be on his way out of Shrewsbury, with Phil Brown interested in signing him for The Shrimpers.

But according to the press in Southend, Chesterfield are also keen to land the 29-year-old defender.

The man who captained the Shrews in the second half of last season didn’t report for pre-season training and is set for an imminent departure, reports The Shropshire Star.

They too believe Chesterfield are linked with the former Histon, Wrexham and Peterborough man.
