Spireites to miss out as Bristol Rovers '˜agree deal' with De Girolamo

Reports in Bristol suggest that Chesterfield will not get the chance to take a look at Diego De Girolamo.

The Spireites were to host the former Italy youth international for a trial today.

But the Chesterfield-born forward is said to have agreed a deal with Bristol City.

The 20-year-old winger departed Sheffield United just over a week ago after failing to establish himself as a first team player.

He made his Football League debut, off the bench, for the Blades in 2013.

It was current Chesterfield boss Danny Wilson who handed De Girolamo that debut.

Bristol City assistant head coach John Pemberton knows the youngster well from their time at Bramall Lane.
