Spireites hope to bounce back after defeat

Spireites will be back on 'derby' duty at the weekend as they prepare to make the 25 mile trip to Notts County, hoping that they regain the attacking touch that saw off Mansfield Town in the last away game, banishing the painful memories of the home defeat against Barnet three days ago.

Lee Richardson was willing to praise Barnet for their approach saying: "I applaud them because with their limited playing resources, they came and their game plan worked.

"They frustrated us, trying to keep possession without really going anywhere and then to nick a goal and get the three points. Their keeper made one of the best saves I've ever seen to deny us an equaliser after that sucker punch."

He added: "In one way it's pleasing because it's an early reminder to us that no matter how strong we are and how easily we can beat opposition, without seeming to get into top gear, that doesn't last forever.

"All my team were poor, there wasn't anybody who stood out for us and we can't afford to be like that against any opposition. We need to learn from that and learn from it quickly.

"We've had an excellent start, it's not the end of the world and there's a long season ahead of us but we need to remember this performance and not let it happen again."

Gareth Davies, who joined Conference North side Stalybridge Celtic on loan ahead of the weekend, came through 70 minutes of their home win against Hinckley United on Saturday in his bid to get match fit after a broken toe.
