The board met today to talk about the club’s future after Allen resigned as chairman and director last night in a shocking and chaotic AGM.

But it would appear that the way forward has not yet been agreed.

A statement was released this evening and company secretary Ashley Carson revealed that vice chairman David Jones had chaired the meeting with one item on the agenda, finding a way to secure the club’s future.

“It is recognised that without the financial backing of Dave Allen, the club would have not been a position to move to the Proact Stadium,” he said.

“The board will remain committed to finding a way to resolving this unforeseen situation. We would also like to advise shareholders that we will endeavour to reconvene an EGM or AGM as soon as possible. We will aim to notify shareholders of the relevant details within the next 28 days.”

The Derbyshire Times has requested comment from Allen but the official line from the club is that he is not conducting interviews.
