It's been a mixed week of injury news for the Spireites, who lost their skipper for the season but regained a '˜fantastic' midfielder.

The talismanic Ian Evatt damaged his knee on Saturday and boss Gary Caldwell revealed: “It’s probably eight weeks, so it’s his season over.

“The scan was good news, his medial ligament is damaged but there’s nothing else, so it was as good as we could hope for.”

Better news came in the return of Jon Nolan, who might find himself wrapped in cotton wool for the rest of the week.

“He’s fantastic, he’s been a big miss for us,” said the manager.

“I didn’t want to play him for 90 minutes (on Tuesday) but he’s so good I had to.

“Delighted to have him back but we’ll have to look after him the next few days to see how he is for Saturday.”
