Shrews will be a handful but we have to focus on our strengths

Gary Caldwell acknowledges Chesterfield will have their hands full when Shrewsbury visit today, but he wants his players to focus on their own strengths.

The Shrews have lifted themselves out of the relegation zone, and have the ability to hurt teams through in-form attackers like Tyler Roberts.

Caldwell said: “They can score goals, they attack well down the flanks and they’re a dangerous team.

“They’re still in a position where they won’t feel safe, although they’re pretty comfortable, so they will be fighting to keep that position.”

But Caldwell wants his players to think about the ways in which they can impose themselves on Paul Hurst’s visiting side.

“They’re going to pose us problems but I try to concentrate the players’ minds on us, what we do, how we cause them problems.

“It’s up to us to win these games and keep asking questions of teams above us.”

“It’s obvious we have to start winning consistently.

“We have to win games back to back, put points on the board and draw teams closer to us.”
