Fans direct their anger at Monk

In terms of control we needed, we lacked the quality, that bit of confidence or belief. We could’ve taken the opportunities.

This game was a much better performance, but it’s still not at the level that we need. The effort was there, we lacked that killer edge.

GM on how much it's hurting

My personal life has nothing to do with it.

You’re asking me about whether I’m hurting or not, what sort of question is it?

There will be nobody hurting more than me.

Put it this way, I won’t have a good weekend.

GM on being the right man for the job

I believe in what I do. I’ve proven I can win games in this division. I can do well with teams in difficult positions.

I’m not happy with my overall record, I take responsibility.

You ask me whether I’m the right man for the job or not? Of course I do.

GM on lack of goals all season

Up to the Birmingham game everyone was saying it was a good start. The last three games haven’t been good enough.

We created chances before, we’re not creating enough clear-cut chances now.

GM on the challenge / being the right man

I don;t know where we’d be without the points deduction, but with that we know it’s a major task.

There;s no intention to go out there and not play well. They’ve no doubt they can get out of this.

I get that it’s been a very, very poor week. It’s not been below par today in terms of commitment, we just lacked that killer edge today.

Where will killer edge come from?

They are good enough but the confidence isn;t quite there. We’ve seen it before that they’re good enough.

We just need to see that one moment to go for us, for that goal to go in.

Much better than the last two, the lads ran their hearts out but we’re lacking that killer edge.

We dominated the game but we can’t find that killer edge, that killing quality. It’s just not going for us at this moment in time.

We got into positions we wanted to get into. There’s a lack of quality in those moments, we’re suffering without that killer edge.

Rinse, repeat: More rock-bottom ratings after Sheffield Wednesday shambles at Wycombe

Another one. Another sorry, lacklustre outing for Sheffield Wednesday.

It really is a nightmare on Hallowe’en for Garry Monk and Sheffield Wednesday as they lose 1-0 to Wycombe Wanderers - the home side’s first ever win in the second tier of English football. The Owls are now eight points behind the Chairboys and remain on minus four points at the foot of the Sky Bet Championship. Shocking.
