In come Joe Wildsmith, Kadeem Harris, on his return from suspension, and Liam Shaw for Keiren Westwood – injured in the midweek draw at Swansea City – Moses Odubajo and Jordan Rhodes.

Odubajo and Rhodes are among nine substitutes named by Pulis for this afternoon’s clash with the Potters, who include former Owls men Morgan Fox and Danny Batth – a promotion winner with the Hillsborough outfit in 2012 – in their line-up.

However, ex-Wednesday striker Steven Fletcher misses out through injury after suffering a cut leg when he collided with an advertisement board in Stoke’s defeat to Norwich City in midweek.

The Owls line-up is Wildsmith; Palmer, Lees, Borner, van Aken; Harris, Bannan, Luongo, Shaw, Reach; Paterson.

Here’s how Wednesday fans on Twitter have reacted to today’s team selected by Pulis.

@scottcain13 Gutted for Moses but need to get behind the lads. Today is a must win, no other result will do today. In Pulis we trust #wawaw #swfc

@OR19922 Izzy Brown must be scratching his head on how to get into this side by the way. Looks like the writing is on the wall for him already.

@RussAmos333 @LiamShawww is a great shout to start!! Had a solid 20 minutes on Wednesday

@owl4life1867 Wish we had a decent right winger. Heard their left back is a bit iffy.... #swfc

@Afoxich Can’t fault anything Tony has done since he’s been here #SWFC

@danknight__ How has he left Moses out after midweek???

@StevenLove_79 Why does Brown not get any game time?

@jackdoona Shaw - good shout. Good to see young players will still get a look in with Pulis as boss.

@IanSWFC Lots of games close together and Mo played quite a lot. Maybe resting. Clear he has no confidence in the fit Kacha and Rhodes IMO

@callum_dotty Odubajo deserves a start after Swansea

@johnellison No strikers, interesting team selection from Big T, however, just looking for a strong performance at this stage.
