Who is Preslav Borukov? Spotlight on the latest youth player to be drafted into Garry Monk's matchday squad
Sheffield Wednesday could be set to welcome its latest debutant after Preslav Borukov was included on the Owls; bench for their FA Cup fourth round clash at QPR.
The 19-year-old Bulgarian joins the likes of Alex Hunt, Ben Hughes and Osaze Urhoghide in being plucked out of the under-23s for a taste of first team involvement as manager Garry Monk looks to inject some youth into the set-up.
Borukov, a strong and powerful forward, joined the club from PFC Levski Sofia in 2017 and has been a regular for the club’s second string, signing professional terms with the club in June last year.
Capped by his country at under-16, under-17, under-18 and under-21 level, he scored the winner in the Owls’ 1-0 mini-derby win over Sheffield United at Bramall Lane in November.
His strengths include finishing and the ability to hold-up the ball.
