Ole Gunnar Solskjær sees a big future for the midfielder at Old Trafford, and it’s thought that the player is itching to prove himself there if given the chance, although a loan move could be on the cards in order for him to try and pick up some more regular game time.

Garner, and England youth international, has played seven senior games for United already – including four in the UEFA Europa League – would be a good fit for the Owls with the likes of Joey Pelupessy, Kieran Lee and Sam Hutchinson out of contract, but the second tier may not be for him at this stage as United look a bit higher up the footballing pyramid.

It is understood that there is plenty of interest in the defensive midfielder, locally and abroad, but no decision on his future will be rushed given the uncertainty surrounding the end of the 2019/20 season as well as the 2020/21 season ahead.

Having captained the England U17 side that reached the semi-finals of the 2018 European Championships, it is no surprise that interest in him is growing, but a move to Hillsborough is far from a done deal as the Red Devils plot their starlet’s future very carefully.
