'Where’s was the fight tonight?' - Sheffield Wednesday fans air their frustrations after Stoke City defeat

Former Owls striker Steven Fletcher’s second half goal was enough to secure all three points for the home side as they won their first league game in 10 matches against a Wednesday side which failed to fashion any chances of note at the Bet365 Stadium.

The defeat leaves Neil Thompson’s men still in 22nd place as the battle to beat the drop hots up at the bottom of the second tier.

Writing on Twitter, our Wednesday correspondent Joe Crann posted: “They deserved it from that second half, #SWFC weren’t really at the races.”

@docsavage1975 Thommo has clearly done well since taking control BUT what triggers a thought process that concludes when losing 1-0 in the 83rd minute bringing Pelupessy and Kachunga on is they way to turn the game around. The mind boggles.
