After young goalkeeper Cameron Dawson signed a new four-and-a-half-year deal in January, attention turned to extending the stays of left-back Morgan Fox and top-scorer Steven Fletcher, with any new deal for the likes of Atdhe Nuhiu, Fernando Forestieri and Kieran Lee understood yet to be put on the table.
Whether the changing circumstances of football’s ongoing suspension changes that remain to be seen. The possibility of a shortened summer transfer window would further limit the amount of time available for the club to re-mould the make-up of their playing staff and could perhaps play into the hands of those wanting to stay on.

Hide AdThe exact rules and regulations around player contract extensions in the event of the season going on beyond the end of June – when the majority of those contracts are up – remain something of a mystery.
It has been suggested that the PFA would facilitate the extension of contracts for an extra month to carry the difference, but that any deal would be subject to agreement from the player as well as the club.
Speaking ahead of his side’s trip to Brentford last month, Owls boss Garry Monk said: “We are still talking [to Fox],
“I think there are a few little details. That side I don't really go into, I leave that to the club, the player and his representative.

“[There is] Steven Fletcher as well. We have already done Cameron (Dawson) as well. We are trying to work through them. Once those are done, you can then possibly move on and go from there.
“Those two [Fox and Fletcher] are the main ones but there are others in the background going on.
“From talking to the players and the club, it is going well and hopefully it should be very soon.”
