When Dejphon Chansiri's wife was named as director of Sheffield Wednesday's parent company

The wife of Sheffield Wednesday owner Dejphon Chansiri was appointed the director of the club's parent company SWFC Holdings Limited in July 2017, The Star has learned.

It was thought that Tipparut Chansiri only recently joined the board of the Hong Kong-based company after the change was listed on Companies House earlier this month.

But contrary to reports, I understand Tipparut Chansiri, a shareholder in a number of the family’s businesses including the Thai Union Frozen Products, was named as a director over two and a half years ago.

Mr Chansiri is the only named director of Sheffield Wednesday Football Club, which has been the case since the departure of ex-chief executive Katrien Meire in February 2019.

As for on the pitch, Wednesday are currently in sixth position after their superb victory at Leeds United.

Next up is a home meeting with mid-table Blackburn Rovers this Saturday.
