Pulis is a man with an absolute wealth of Championship experience over the years. Since the Championship was formed back in 2004, he has been in charge of 243 games in the division, winning 99 of them and averaging 1.53 points per game.

The former Stoke City, Crystal Palace and Middlesbrough man has Pulis has famously never been relegated during a lengthy management career, and the potential hiring of ‘TP’ may well be an admission from Dejphon Chansiri that the aim this season – on the back of a six-point deduction – is to secure their Championship status.

According to Sky Sports, ‘a second round of talks between Pulis and Wednesday officials are expected to take place in the next 48 hours’ as the ex-West Bromwich Albion seemingly draws closer to Hillsborough, while the Telegraph’s John Percy said that a deal is ‘not 100% agreed yet, but negotiations progressing ahead of potentially appointing before the weekend’. He added that it is likely to be a short-term deal until the end of the season.

Meanwhile, the Mirror have reported that Pulis has ‘outlined his financial demands’ to Chansiri, adding that those demands included ‘a hefty survival bonus’ should the Owls secure their Championship status.

It is believed that Pulis was very much in the running for the Wednesday job last year prior to the appointment of Garry Monk as Steve Bruce’s successor, and it may well be a case of second time lucky for the Welshmen as he considers his first venture into Yorkshire.

Chansiri has stated that he will not rush into making a decision on Monk’s replacement, however The Star understands that there is an urgency to try and get the new man in before they take on Preston North End on November 21st.

There have been plenty of other names thrown into the hat since the position became vacant, but with betting now suspended and so many various reports suggesting that a deal is on the cards, it may well be that Chansiri has found his man.
