What Tony Pulis said on Sheffield Wednesday transfers after Ahmed Musa links

The 62-year-old has said previously that the club are keeping a keen eye on the free transfer market and this week were linked with a move for free agent Ahmed Musa, the former Leicester City striker.
Musa poured cold water on those reports yesterday but speaking ahead of the visit of Stoke this weekend, Pulis maintained that they are keeping tabs on what is available in what he described as difficult circumstances.

Hide AdThe transfer window proper re-opens in January and Wednesday are expected to be busy.
“We’re trying everything behind the scenes to get what we think will help us,” he said. “To try and get players in that haven’t been registered in this period is difficult, most of the players are registered.
“There might be players that are registered with other clubs that come out of contract when the window re-opens.
“We are working hard to see what is available and hopefully, fingers crossed if we can manipulate and work the market well, then if it’s right, we’ll try to do it.”

Hide AdPulis has been outspoken in his concern over the club’s injury record in recent seasons and is without the likes of Aden Flint and Jack Marriott long-term, while Dominic Iorfa and Keiren Westwood will miss the next two matches at the very least.
Speaking at his first press conference as Owls boss last week, Pulis described the squad as unbalanced.
“We need to strengthen certain areas, without any doubt,” he said.
“But the players that are here at the moment have been fantastic in their effort and commitment to put the work in. We’ve played two games, almost a full match at Preston with 10 men and they’ve never stopped.

“We have to get through a period of very, very tough games starting tomorrow with Stoke, and to get as many points as we possibly can until we get important players fit, important players back in the team and then hopefully strengthen in certain areas when the window opens.”
