'We really aren't far away' - Cameron Dawson on Sheffield Wednesday's record against their promotion rivals

The Owls have failed to beat any of their fellow promotion contenders, accruing a meagre four points from a possible 24 on offer.

The subject reared its head again at Wednesday's pre-match press conference ahead of their duel with seventh-placed Brentford.

But there was a bewildered look on Cameron Dawson's face when The Star asked him about the team's wretched record against their rivals.

A shocked Dawson told The Star: "Is that right? That’s a good stat that.

“But we will just go about our business. We really aren’t far away.

“To get in the top six you have to win games; it doesn’t matter where the wins come from come the end of the season.“
