"We really are Steven Fletcher FC" - Sheffield Wednesday fans hail striker after injury-time winner against Charlton Athletic

The last gasp winner brought to an end a dismal run of form at S6, which had seen the Owls fail to win in front of their own fans since December 22.

It was also the first time they had scored in open play at Hillsborough since December 7.

The win leaves Garry Monk’s side in 12th place, eight points adrift of the play-off places with 11 games to play.

Speaking after the game, the Owls boss said: “With a few seconds to go, you think what more could we have done? But we got our rewards in the end. We’ve been much more like ourselves these last two games.”

And here’s how Wednesdayites on Twitter have reacted to tonight’s drama.

@andymcelwaine Wish I could feel happier about the win tonight. We need to go on a pretty good run now to even make up for the dirge we’ve witnessed these last two months or so. Well done lads, onwards and upwards. #swfc

@Maplo16 1-0 win over Charlton. Really good performance and a fully deserved victory. They came for a point and to try and catch us on the break. The time wasting can’t back to bite them! #swfc

@JamieSmith1911 Was freezing but worth it. Apart from Wickham and Harris I thought the players were fantastic tonight. Shudda been put to bed earlier but I’ll take that all day long. #swfc #uto #nobodybetterthanStevenFletcher
