That’s according to club captain Barry Bannan, who speaking to The Star expressed his encouragement with the first impressions new boy Andre Green has made at the club, but admitted more competition for places is required as the Owls continue to battle against relegation from the Championship.
Derby loanee Jack Marriott, out since November, has returned to the club, while Wednesday are heavily linked with a loan switch for Cardiff’s Josh Murphy as well as a free transfer move for the former midfield battler Sam Hutchinson.

“We’ve brought Andre Green in and he’ll play a big part in this season, he’ll help us.
“We need help obviously and could do with a few more players in. Hopefully that can happen.
“When you get new players in it seems to help everyone, everyone goes again because their place is under threat, so it’s always good. It’s competition for places so hopefully that can happen in the next few days and that can be a big boost for the club.”

“He’s quick and a good finisher, so he’s got good attributes that should help us through to the end of this season.”
