Another Sheffield Wednesday player has thanked fans for their 'absolutely fantastic' support in the wake of the team's play-off disappointment.
The Owls lost out in a penalty shoot-out to Huddersfield Town on Wednesday night following a 1-1 draw after extra time at Hillsborough, which saw their dream of another trip to Wembley come to an end.
Jack Hunt was one of Wednesday's successful penalty takers and the right back took time to appreciate the support that has come from the stands throughout the long campaign.
He tweeted: "The dust has settled as such after the pain of Wednesday night. We gave everything to achieve what we all wanted but came up short. This season it's been a pleasure to play with an amazing group of players and we want to thank you for your support. To the fans you have been absolutely fantastic!!"
Like some of his team mates, Hunt also stated that Wednesday will be pushing to have another go at promotion again next season.
He added: "We will be back next season for sure to get to where we want to be and have another crack at it."
Hunt also tweeted his congratulations to former club Huddersfield for theri success: "Congratulations to @htafcdotcom on reaching Wembley. Good luck in the final. A fantastic season!!
Goalkeeper Keiren Westwood had earlier tweeted: "Devastated in an understatement, I genuinely thought we could go on better than last season.
"I just wanted to say I'm immensely proud of this season and every single one of my teammates. To a man they've been fantastic. We've all played our part. It's been an absolutely pleasure to play for this fantastic football club and this great team this season. The way we all work for each other and team spirit is there for everyone to see."
Meanwhile, Jose Semedo has also been on twitter, with a typically positive post.
He tweeted: "The beautiful thing with football is there's always another game around the corner. To the best fans in the world. Be proud #swfc &wintheday"
