'We deserve to be in League One' - Sheffield Wednesday fans' damning verdict after Huddersfield Town defeat

It’s now six games without a win for Sheffield Wednesday under Tony Pulis as they slumped to a disappointing 2-0 defeat to Yorkshire rivals Huddersfield Town at the John Smith’s Stadium tonight.

Town secured all three points through strikes inside the opening 25 minutes from Josh Koroma and Isaac Mbenza and could also afford to miss a penalty early in the second half when Juninho Bacuna put his spot kick horribly wide of Joe Wildsmith’s upright.

The result leaves the lacklustre Owls at the bottom of the Sky Bet Championship table and they have now not won a league game since the 1-0 victory over AFC Bournemouth at Hillsborough in early November.

On Twitter, our Wednesday correspondent Joe Crann wrote: “Well that was miserable… #SWFC just don’t look like scoring. Huddersfield didn’t even play that well or create that much tonight, but managed to score two and never looked under threat. I do not envy Tony Pulis.”

And the result left Wednesdayites far from happy.

Here’s what a selection of fans have had to say on Twitter.

@Theowls94 We deserve to be in League one. Awful bunch of players. #swfc

@richtremix Can we play Barnsley on the training pitch? I don't think the team has seen it this year. #SWFC

@deanrowdingswfc Pulis is at fault for tonight setting up like that in a game we should be taking to the opposition after Saturday. Turning to Pelupessy at 2-0 down (why) waited til last 10 minutes to bring on attackers is inexcusable. I want him to do well but feels like Monk’s still here #swfc

@paulvcooke Makes you wonder why we didn't buy any strikers in the last transfer window? Garry Monk and his appalling management casts a long over shadow over #swfc

@70_katylou Dreadful. Poor. Apathetic. #swfc

@steveowatts16 Thank God we got 6 points back! #swfc

@themunchkin2011 I’m trying to be positive, I’m trying to get behind the team. I don’t want to be negative towards the players or manager but it’s just not good enough and it’s week in week out, makes me question why I’m supporting them #swfc

@danny61207097 No pace. No creativity. Nobody who can get in behind defence. #swfc. Want to be ashamed!

@Maplo16 Genuinely just apologised to my 12 year old lad for ruining his life #swfc

@Gareth129Gareth I’ve stopped caring now @swfc #swfc

@Jnkinnear Four defeats with an aggregate score of 0-7 against Luton, Rotherham, Wycombe, and Huddersfield. Doesn’t get any worse than that #swfc

@stebboswfc No denying the players were at fault but I just don’t see the logic behind setting us up so negatively. We aren’t good enough to invite pressure onto us for 90 mins and certainly not clinical enough to take the one or two chances that come playing that way #swfc
