"We can beat anyone!" Garry Monk backs his men ahead of HUGE four days
Manager Garry Monk believes the Owls have a perfect opportunity to lay down a marker this week.
Buoyed after Saturday's superb come-from-behind win over Brentford, Wednesday are braced for an away double-header with Derby County and Nottingham Forest.
Tonight, Monk's men face the Rams at Pride Park Stadium before rounding of a busy week with a trip to promotion rivals Forest this weekend.
Monk, who has no new injury concerns, wants his side to maintain their upward momentum.
"We wanted to start the week off well and we managed to do that with the comeback on Saturday," said Monk.
"We have got a chance to really try and put a marker down this week.
"We know it will not be easy. We are playing against two difficult sides.
"We need to try and keep that belief we are showing and momentum going.
"We are going to fight as hard as we can for the three points."
Under Monk, the Owls have taken 23 points from his 14 matches in charge.
He said: "When our intensity levels and attitude is at its best, we are capable of winning and beating any team in this league. That is what we have tried to drill into the players and slowly but surely I think they have taken that more on board."
Derby have slipped out of the promotion race and into the bottom half of the Championship after an alarming slump in form. Philip Cocu’s team have won only two of their last seven matches.
