The 26-year-old has registered three goals and three assists so far this season and has played more minutes than any Owls player in the league this season despite having lost his place in the side towards the end of Wednesday’s pre-suspension run of poor form.

But with the Owls having been off training and sent home with bespoke training regimes since the end of last week, the speedster has taken the time to spread a positive message to supporters from his place in isolation.

It is understood that no Wednesday staff or players have reported symptoms of coronavirus as of yet.

In his message, posted on the Sheffield Wednesday Twitter feed, Harris said: “Hi everybody, I hope you and your families are well.

“I want to take a moment out of my time to send my love to you in this difficult period, secondly stress how important it that if you want normal life to resume, if you want football to resume, which I personally can’t wait for and most importantly if you want to save lives and stay safe at the same time, we’ve got no choice but to stay in our houses. Only leave the house is 100 per cent necessary.

“I know this can be a very boring time for you, myself included, but let’s use this time and channel our minds into something positive.

“Let’s get fit, let’s figure out a plan for when life does finally resume and go back to normal and let’s execute that plan when it does.

“I can only hope and pray that we beat this in no time, but let’s stick together and stay safe in the meantime.

“I hope to see you all soon.”

Tom Lees, Josh Windass and Fernando Forestieri have taken to social media to give an insight into the different training regimes designed for them by the Owls’ coaching team, lead by internationally-renowned fitness sports science guru Tony Strudwick.
