Sheffield Wednesday duo, Barry Bannan and Josh Windass, were putting in the work this week before jetting out of the country.

Bannan signed a new deal to stay at Hillsborough last month to make sure that he’ll be donning blue and white for a 10th year, while there is increased hope that Windass, who is out of contract at the end of the month, will join him in the near future.

The pair, who are close friends off the pitch as well, spent time training together this week as they continue their preparations for the 2024/25 campaign, working with personal trainer, Louis Maguire, who was putting them through their paces.

‘Baz’ put out a video on his Instagram showing the sort of session the Owls pair underwent, but it was a case of a bit of work before some down time as he then posted a photo of them on a plane saying they were about to fly out to embark on a trip overseas ahead of Windass’ wedding.

Knowing his important to the side and the quality that he has, there’s no doubt that the Wednesday skipper will be in the attacker’s ear to try and make sure that a new deal at S6 does get done, but they’ll also be keen to enjoy the last three weeks of their break before the real work begins on June 28th when Bannan – and hopefully Windass – head back to Middlewood Road.

Wednesday offered seven new contracts out at the end of the season, however at this point only their skipper and Liam Palmer have committed to staying at the club – the hope is that that number will grow in the coming weeks.
