The superlatives were all used up at Hillsborough yesterday and it was no surprise.

Sheffield Wednesday turned in a superb display to absolutely demolish fellow play-off contenders Norwich City and send a message to the rest of the division that things may have just clicked into gear at the right time.

Ross Wallace scored a cracker from distance, Jordan Rhodes made it 2-0 and even though Cameron Jerome reduced the deficit, Morgan Fox made sure there were still two goals between the teams at the break.

Rhodes headed in his second and Fernando Forestieri fired in the goal that his performance deserved to make it 5-1.

Fox, who registered is first goal for the Owls said that at half time, Carlos Carvalhal told them not to hold back and continue to show that ruthlessness.

"The gaffer said just keep going, keep doing what we're doing, keep our shape and as players we know that as well," said Fox. "We didn't take our foot off the gas and that's what you have to do."
