He’s undeniably one of Sheffield Wednesday’s greatest legends - and today marks 30 years since David Hirst signed for the Hillsborough club.
Hirst signed for the Owls from Barnsley on August 11, 1986 for £250,000.
To celebrate, we’ve dug out this video of belting goals scored by David Hirst. Some of these are just unbelievable.
The striker quickly established himself as a Wednesday fan favourite, and went on to score 106 goals in 294 appearances, better than a goal every three games.
His most prolific year was in 1990-1991, when he put away an astonishing 32 goals as Wednesday were promoted to the old First Division, including four goals in a 5-1 win over Hull.
And the proverbial goal-scoring torch may have just been passed down - last night, David’s son George Hirst made his first-team debut for Sheffield Wednesday against Cambridge in the EFL cup
But the key question is - which goal was your favourite, Wednesday fans?
