Luhukay on injuries

Fernando Forestieri is out ‘for the next few weeks’ after suffering a hamstring strain against Bristol City. Marco Matias remains unavailable.

Any good news?

Barry Bannan is fit, as is Steven Fletcher. Both suffered knocks against Bristol City before the international break. Morgan Fox and Sam Hutchinson are also available for selection.

The long term injuries

‘The situation remains with same’ with Gary Hooper, Kieran Lee and Almen Abdi

Penney talks

Meetings have taken place to discuss a new contract for Matt Penney. Luhukay is confident it will be resolved in the next few weeks.

On Joao

After his recent form, Luhukay says the striker still needs to find a level of consistency but says he is a very important player, as he showed against Bristol City. Luhukay says Joao is capable of breaking back into the Portuguese national team again.

On Boro

“My team have the confidence and trust and believe in each other. We play at home, we haven’t lost this season at home and we hold that and will do everything for a good result.”

Home record

“I don’t think too much, it’s just important to have passion and ambition. You must play 90 minutes and play a very good game and hopefully we can get to the same level as Middlesbrough.”

Recent run of games

“It was a hard programme, and tomorrow too and they have shown they are strong enough but it will be a hard fight tomorrow.”

Message to the Championship?

“This is a long process, it is a long season, I am realistic, I am happy to play good games and get good results but it is a long way.”
