Sorry Sheffield Wednesday find themselves seven points from safety at the bottom of the Championship after a 2-0 defeat to Nottingham Forest at the City Ground this evening.

The Owls offered very little as an attacking threat throughout the game and were condemned to a fourth successive defeat as goals from Yuri Ribeiro and Lewis Grabban secured all three points for Forest, who began the game just four points ahead of Tony Pulis’ men.

It means Pulis’ winless run as Wednesday boss stretches to eight games, while the Hillsborough outfit have not registered a victory since November 3 when they defeated AFC Bournemouth at S6.

Here’s what Wednesdayites on Twitter made of tonight’s result.

@matthyde1984 Absolutely devastated again about my team, dreadful at moment and is heartbreaking

@CharliePearson0 Disappointed but not surprised

morts3108 We're not very good at football are we…

@Compostella What concerns me most is that I don’t feel the pain anymore. Couldn’t care less

@Dwebbo86 Monk was never the man but the naivety of fans to think anyone else could of got more out of this squad has been clearly proved. Now almost halfway through a season we find ourselves starting again with a new man and a new process. Sometimes it’s braver to stick than twist

@joelgardiner__ Bad manager, bad squad, bad captain. Yet some Wednesday fans still blame the “negativity” on social media effecting the performances. Get real, this is the worst squad we’ve had since Wembley. League one football for the next three to five years.

@emmaswfc_ Feel I tweet the same week in week out, utterly embarrassing. There’s no leadership or fight in that whole team! Like many others I have the club etched on my skin, bleed blue and white and watching this is just so so disheartening. Where do we even go from here?

@baggleyowl Sheffield possibly going from Tier 3 to Tier 2. Meanwhile, #swfc are going from football's Tier 2 to Tier 3.

@JamesSavageFJ I’d like to say I’m done but come Saturday, I’ll get sucked in. Supporting a football team is an addiction. You know it’s bad for you but you can’t help yourself. Despite all the miserable lows you keep chasing the highs. But when the highs have stopped, what is the point?

@CJLewis_90 In my 30 years following #swfc I’ve seen discontent at various aspects of the club, whether that be the owner, the players, the manager... that’s football. But what we are seeing now is unprecedented. Fans completely losing interest! We need drastic changes from the top. Worrying.

@Wardyy1996 This is surely on par with the Chris Turner era, maybe even worse? It's going to take a miracle to get us out of this mess. #swfc

@JohnBreporter When I look at #swfc team I find myself wondering what the shape is, who's playing where, how we'll create anything. To lack quality is one thing, but it feels like we've given up even trying to win games. There's no discernible method or identity at all.
