The Owls are nursing a disciplinary record the new Owls boss described as ‘ridiculous’, having been shown no fewer than five red cards in their opening 15 matches of the season, a tally only one short of last season’s Championship record.
Two of those reds have been awarded under Pulis’ watch and those who received them, Josh Windass and Liam Shaw, have been hit in the pocket for what Pulis described as ‘recklessness’.

“It is ridiculous we have had five players sent off. That is not good enough. We had talked about it and hopefully we can eradicate the poor decisions that players are making at times.”
Shaw’s suspension means he will miss this weekend’s trip to Norwich, for which Windass returns after missing three matches.
“I have had two,” Pulis said. “They were two poor challenges and challenges you cannot make today.

“If they don’t, they will get punished and those two have been punished because they have been reckless.
“It’s only right… If they’ve been reckless then they cost the club because we can’t play them, but they’re still being paid.”
