The Owls, who sit 11 points clear of the drop zone but incredibly still have the unresolved threat of a potential points deduction hanging over them, will arrive at Craven Cottage for their final away clash of the season before returning to Hillsborough to face Neil Warnock’s Middlesbrough on Wednesday.
Whilst results have not been consistent enough for the liking of Wednesday boss Garry Monk, his side have had a renewed identity about them since the post-lockdown switch to a 3-5-2 system skipper Tom Lees believes the squad are well suited to.

Hide Ad“He wants to be hard to beat first and foremost and that gives you a platform,” Lees said discussing Tuesday evening’s 0-0 draw with Huddersfield Town.
"I don’t think first half we played that great but sometimes we’ve played well and been 2-0 down at half-time, so we’re still in the game at 0-0.
“Maybe in the past those are the sort of games that we might lose. You see that sort of game so many times in the Championship and the teams that are successful maybe nick that 1-0, but I think the manager is pleased because we were a bit more solid.
“That’s how the Championship is. It’s scrappy games.”
On the challenge of Fulham Lees said: “It’ll be a really tough game. They’re a quality side and they keep the ball well. They can turn it on when they want to show up.

Hide Ad“We’re going to have to be really good. I’m sure they won’t want to take their foot off the gas because every season the teams that are in the playoffs, it’s all about momentum isn’t it?
“They’ll be desperate to build that momentum.
“It’s our story in the past few seasons that we’ve shown in periods of five or six games what we can do and then we go on a run where we’re totally unrecognisable. It’s about getting that consistency.”
