Hide AdGiant Cardiff City centre-half Flint emerged as a surprise Owls target last week.
The six-foot-six 31-year-old, who arrived in South Wales for a reported £7m from Middlesbrough just last year, is way out of favour under Neil Harris having not featured since the Bluebirds’ 6-1 defeat to QPR on New Year’s Day.
And as confirmed by The Star on Tuesday, Wednesday’s interest is genuine, though they’re facing an uphill battle to secure any deal before Friday’s deadline.
It is understood that the Owls have made enquiries to loan the former Bristol City man.

Having made his debut for his parent club in the EFL Cup back in October 2019, he played nine times for the Bluebirds and impressed in a 90-minute outing for Wolves in an EFL Cup clash at Bradford last week.
Sanderson has previously spoken about his desire to head out on loan in a bid to gain more first team experience.
