The talented forward has missed the Owls'’ last three matches due to a knee injury he suffered in their victory over Charlton Athletic last month. Boss Garry Monk told The Star: “We will have a look at him this week. It is a niggly one. It is nothing major anything like that but it is something we are going to have to monitor. Those types of injuries are dictated by the player." It has been a stop-start campaign for Forestieri, with injuries and disciplinary problems limiting him to just 10 appearances.

"We have to be careful (with Fernando), " said Monk, who has confirmed midfielder Kieran Lee was not involved at Forest because his wife was due to give birth.
