'This is your legacy' - Dejphon Chansiri feels wrath of Sheffield Wednesday fans as Owls are relegated to League One

It’s been dragging on for quite some time but the inevitable finally arrived on the last day of the season as Sheffield Wednesday were relegated to League One.

A 3-3 draw with Derby County – which was enough to keep the Rams in the Championship – sealed Wednesday’s fate after a horrible season.

There’s been an steep decline for a few seasons at Hillsborough and poor performances on the pitch have been exacerbated by rank poor running of the club.

They’d begun this season with a 12-point deduction – subsequently reduced to six – and it was that which would help send them down.

Now the Owls head to League One and many fans were quick to offer their view on who is to blame. For a lot of them, it’s the chairman, Dejphon Chansiri

@ElEth4n posted on twitter: “Time to sell mr Chansiri. I’m sorry but we don’t want you in our club anymore. You said you would sell when we came to this decision.”

And @Mattpea111 said: “Chansiri has killed our club!!! #chansiriout”

@ThomasLedger posted: “Mr Chansiri, you always said you would get us out of the Chanpionship. Congratulations. And on the journey you have alienated half of our fan base. Consistently blamed the fans for things YOU have controlled. THIS is your legacy.”

@Matthew60975500 added: “The relegation is fully down to Chansiri. His incompetence has ruined the club.”

@Meonplanetearth said: “Devastated at that. Genuinely fearful for the clubs future. Some may say better the devil you know but for me - Chansiri needs to go - he is killing us.”

@SwfcFan12 posted: “Chansiri is the biggest problem at this football club. He has truly killed this football club. His decisions. The advice he's listened too. ALL WRONG!! Will he change? Probably not. Disgraceful ownership.”

And @mattclements22 said: “Whilst Chansiri is the owner our club, Sheffield Wednesday Football Club will go NO where. We should be doing everything we can to get rid of him. Stop putting money into Mr Chansiri's pocket. He will soon [leave].”

Perhaps the most damning spect to emerge in the fanbase, though, is apathy which is worse than anger as it shows some fans simply aren’t caring anymore.

@JamesMarriott postd: “I was almost in tears last time #swfc were relegated and didn’t speak to anyone for two days Today I just shrugged my shoulders and went into town to do some shopping. That’s what you’ve done, Dejphon Chansiri.”

And @matt_1867 said: “I don’t even care, this is how Chansiri has made me feel about my club.”
