All eyes may be on the World Cup but Jos Luhukay will already have one eye on next season.

Wednesday's last season was blighted by injuries with the Owls eventually finishing the campaign in 15th place.

The Owls will be hoping to avoid a similar start to last when they went three games without a win before beating Fulham 1-0 at Craven Cottage.

In their first three matches, Wednesday lost 1-0 away at Preston North End before consecutive 1-1 draws against Queens Park Rangers and Sunderland.

The Owls finished August off with an away defeat at Bolton Wanderers before another 1-1 draw at Burton Albion.

So it's no wonder all the fans will be very interested for the fixture list to be released.

And they won't have to wait too long with the fixtures being released this time next week.

The Sky Bet Championship's fixtures for 2018/19 will be released on Thursday, June 21 at 9am.

This comes exactly one week after the Premier League fixtures were released.

Owls fans will be keeping a keen eye out for key matches, including Championship new boys Stoke City, West Bromwich Albion and Swansea City.

But, the most important fixture will undoubtedly be the two derby matches against Sheffield United.

Last season, the first Steel City derby fell on Sunday, September 24 before the return match on Friday, January 12.
