Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has named a strong starting 11 for his side’s FA Cup fifth round visit to Sheffield Wednesday, with Premier League legend Sergio Aguero named to start.

The Argentinian came off with a knock in Sunday’s Carabao Cup final but will play in a star-studded front three with Riyad Mahrez and Gabriel Jesus.

England defender Jon Stones, from nearby Penistone, retains his place in partnership with Nicolas Otamendi. Portuguese playmaker Bernardo Silva jumps in alongside Rodrigo in a midfield three with David Silva.

Kevin De Bruyne is not involved and Raheem Sterling only makes the bench. David Silva will take the Citizens’ armband.

Owls boss Garry Monk has made four changes to his side, with Joe Wildsmith replacing Cameron Dawson between the sticks.
