After a rocky start and a barrage of injuries to first-team players, Sheffield Wednesday managed to battle back to a mid-table finish.

It was a season of two managers and countless injuries at Hillsborough but that doesn’t tell the whole story of the season.

Carlos Carvalhal left Sheffield Wednesday on Christmas Eve following a 2-1 home defeat by Middlesbrough the weekend before.

Carvalhal left Hillsborough with the club 15th in the Championship table before Jos Luhukay arrived the following month.

The Owls eventually finished the season in 15th; 12 points behind city rivals Sheffield United.
