Sheffield Wednesday manager, Xisco Munoz, wasn’t too worried about the result as the Owls drew 1-1 against York City.

Josh Windass opened the scoring in the first half at the LNER Community Stadium, but Finlay Barnes levelled things up in the second stanza once Munoz had rung the changes at half time.

The Spaniard used 22 different players against the Minstermen, including a number from the academy, and he says that the biggest positive was that they sustained no injury concerns in their first game back.

Speaking to The Star after the 1-1 draw, Munoz said, “I think the result wasn’t the most important thing about today, we’ve only been together for two days. The most important thing was that in the first half I saw the sort of things we want in terms of style, I think the team kept the ball, enjoyed it on the ball, but it’s true that we need to be more dangerous in the last part.

“Also, we had 10 guys from our academy play, and we know exactly what we have in our academy for the future. We may give them moments in the Championship because it’s important that we know the level of our situation.

“It was also important regarding the physical condition of the players, they can only play 45 or 60 minutes, and they gave good numbers. It was like a training session and nobody was injured - which is the most important thing.

“There were positive things today, and it was nice to see the big support of the fans. I want to thank them for coming.”
