The Owls had a horror start to 2020 as they lost a grip on their push for a Play-Off place, with their final game between before the Championship lockdown being a 5-0 defeat at the hands of Brentford.
Now, with Monk and his players having back in contact training for a few days, they’re planning an in-house 11 v 11 game ahead of the planned restart in 10 days’ time against Nottingham Forest at Hillsborough.

Hide AdSpeaking to the media in his most recent press conference, Monk explained what kind of impact the break could have had on his Wednesday troops, saying, "Players have had time to reflect and understand themselves. From my point of view, it is a case of understanding what we can do going forward.
"We have trained in very small groups in the first week so tactically it is very difficult. It is not like we can have meetings and show certain things that tactically we can do better.
"I have spoken to a lot of the players and they have used this time to reflect. The majority of the group have come back in a really good condition which shows they have reflected and understood what they might be coming back into.
"We were not on a good run, especially with the last result, and the aim is to try and reflect that and try and put a strong end to the season with the remaining games.”

Wednesday are set to take on Forest on June 20th at 3pm in their first game in over three months, and fans will be very interested to see who gets the nod in Monk’s first post-Coronavirus XI.
