Sheffield Wednesday got back to winning ways on Saturday with a 2-1 win over Aston Villa at Villa Park.
If bagging three points wasn’t enough, the statistics behind the Owls’ win over Steve Bruce’s side make for impressive reading.
Statistics from EFL Stats show that Jos Luhukay’s men were made the most of their chances as they had the fifth most shots on target in the Championship with five – only Reading and Derby County had more.
The Owls also completed eight dribbles, which was the second most in the league behind Preston North End.
Wednesday had a passing accuracy rate of 80 per cent, although their opponents Villa completed 84 per cent of passes to top the standings.
Luhukay’s defensive unit put a shift in too, they made the second highest number of tackles across the weekend’s fixtures, with 24 challenges despite it not being enough to keep a clean sheet.
It was quite the return to form for Wednesday after they slipped to a 2-1 defeat at Nottingham Forest in their mid-week league fixture, with Saturday’s win lifting the Owls to 10th in the table.
