The Owls camp included new faces Fisayo Dele-Bashiru, Chey Dunkley and Izzy Brown as well as a host of younger players as they pressed on with their preparations, which will include a pre-season friendly against Premier League Leicester City on Saturday.

Following on from their involvement at Middlewood Road last week Charles Hagan and Manuel Hidalgo both featured at the camp along with the more usual faces of Liam Shaw, Liam Waldock, Alex Hunt, Ciaran Brennan and Conor Grant.

Photos revealed that teenage goalkeeper Josh Render took his place in the training squad. The Star revealed this morning that veteran former number one Keiren Westwood is back training with the under-23s and it would appear that Paul Jones has left the club after just one season.

Videos and photos released by the club on social media showed new coaches James Beattie and Andrew Hughes taking charge at the world-class training facility alongside Garry Monk and Tony Strudwick.

It follows training at their Middlewood Road base last week where in small groups the squad got to grips with fitness and conditioning tests before heading to the Midlands base.

Saturday’s clash will be played behind closed doors to both spectators and the media but will be available to watch free of charge via the club’s YouTube channel.
